Collective

RESTRUCTURED CANDOR:

—The collective will maintain a white-minority leadership in every aspect of its operation.

—Members of the Candor Collective will not be responsible to pay the bills of any project. The project budgets and personal needs expenses are created based on a collective vote.

—All profit is shared equally: all members will receive an even share of the Collective’s surplus fund in payments that occur twice a year.

—All income generated from projects is kept in the Collective surplus fund until split in the twice-a-year payments.

FOR EXAMPLE:
La Keisha and khat each want to make projects.

They each submit plans as to what they’d like to see made.

The Collective votes together on appropriate funds to be allocated for each project.

Neither of them owe money to the Candor Collective when the project is produced.

All funds generated by these projects are kept in the Collective fund and the surplus will be shared in the next payout.

La Keisha’s project cost $10,000 to make, and generates $50,000 .

khat’s project cost $10,000 to make but does not produce any income, as it was not intended to.

La Keisha and khat paid $0.00 for their projects to be produced.

The other three members of the Collective did not produce projects in this time, but were involved in the conversations surrounding the work within the Collective and developing its next phase.

There is $30,000 total profit for the 5 members, which is split 6 ways, everyone is paid $5,000.00, and $5,000 is put toward future phases.

PHASE 1 (starting September 2021): FOUNDERS PROJECTS

Through generating next projects by La Keisha Leek, Oriana Koren, and khat knotahaiku, we will troubleshoot and refine our workflow while generating a start-up fund for the Collective.

PHASE 2: Slowly expanding the Collective through invited artists + arts workers.

PHASE 3: Building Rest Systems and Residency Opportunities
